IUI is a simple, non-invasive & cost-effective treatment offered as a first-line option to many subfertile patients. It involves placing processed sperm (husband or donor) directly inside a woman’s uterus using an IUI catheter. It aims to increase the number of sperm that reaches the fallopian tube for fertilization thereby increasing the chance of conception. It is an OPD procedure done without anaesthesia.
Common Indication: Oligospermia, Azoospermia, Sexual dysfunction, unexplained infertility, Ovulatory dysfunction. Pregnancy rate per cycle – 12 to 15%.
