IVF is a process by which an egg is fertilised by Sperm in the laboratory. It involves stimulating the ovaries to get multiple ova (or eggs), which are removed & then allowed to fertilize with sperms in a dish (in vitro) in the laboratory. The fertilized egg is cultured for 3 to 5 days & then the resulting embryos are transferred to the same or another woman’s uterus, with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy.

Common Indication: Fallopation tube blockage, endometriosis, as part of PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis) to rule out genetic disorders
